Russia took part in an International Conference on Foreign Terrorist Fighters

The Regional Conference on “Foreign Terrorist Fighters – Addressing Current Challenges” was held in Vienna.


The event was organized by the UN Office on Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), and the Government of Switzerland, in cooperation with the Albanian OSCE Chairmanship.


Senior experts and practitioners from OSCE participating States and Partners for Cooperation along with representatives from the UN System, international and regional organizations, the private sector attended the conference. Vladimir Tarabrin, Director of the Department for New Challenges and Threats of the Russian Foreign Ministry, headed the interdepartmental delegation of the Russian Federation.


The forum discussed such topics as responding to incitement, recruitment and other activities of international terrorist organizations, collecting and exchanging data, preventing the movement and prosecution of foreign terrorist fighters, as well as issues of repatriation, rehabilitation and reintegration of terrorists and their family members.
