Russia will allocate $ 4 million to help Yemen

Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin led the Russian delegation at a high-level international teleconference on the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.


During the conference, according to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed ways to correct the dire humanitarian situation in Yemen, where 80% of the population needs emergency international assistance.


"In the Russian speech, it was emphasized that a sustainable solution to the humanitarian problems facing Yemen is possible only in the conditions of a comprehensive political settlement in the interests of the entire Yemeni people," the statement of the Russian diplomatic Department reads.


Russian side announced the allocation of $ 4 million this year for emergency food aid to the population of Yemen through the UN World Food Program.
