Russia will supply Kazakhstan with more than 2 million doses of Sputnik V vaccine

As part of the agreement, the Russian Federation will supply Kazakhstan with more than 2 million doses of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine against the coronavirus. In the future, the volume of deliveries will increase to 5 million doses, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev.


"The agreement provides for the delivery of more than 2 million doses of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine to Kazakhstan. in the future, we will consider together with our partners the possibility of increasing the volume of supplies of the vaccine to 5 million doses," Dmitriev said.


Earlier, the RDIF and the Kazakhstan SK-Pharmatsiya company  - a single distributor of the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan - agreed to supply the Russian Sputnik V vaccine to the Republic.


On August 11 the Sputnik V vaccine produced by the Gamalei Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology received a certificate of registration from the Ministry of Health of Russia.


Russia was the first in the world to register a vaccine against coronavirus, it was named Sputnik V. The drug was developed by the Gamalei National research center for Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. In total, more than 160 vaccines are being developed worldwide, of which more than 30 are in human clinical trials.

 

 

Kazakhstan has agreed with the RDIF to allocate a guaranteed volume of Sputnik V vaccine


SK-Pharmatsiya has signed an agreement of understanding with the RDIF on the allocation of a guaranteed volume of Sputnik V vaccine. This was announced on Wednesday by the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan following the visit of the delegation of the government of the Republic to the Russian Federation.


As noted in the message, the guaranteed volume of the vaccine will be allocated "after passing all stages of testing". It is stated that the Gamalei National research center of Epidemiology and Microbiology is ready to produce the necessary volume for Kazakhstan.
The report also notes that immunization for at-risk Kazakhstanis will be carried out on a free and voluntary basis, this will be possible only after the vaccine passes all stages of clinical trials.

 

 

During the visit, the head of the delegation of Kazakhstan, Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar discussed issues of industrial cooperation in the field of the pharmaceutical industry with the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov. The parties noted that the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan "fully meets the nature of the strategic partnership of both states." In addition, during the meeting, the parties discussed the stages of implementing joint projects with major production companies: GAZ Group, KAMAZ PJSC, Hyundai motor manufacturing Rus LLC, MHC EuroChem JSC and St. Petersburg tractor plant JSC.


During the visit, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko and Kazakh Health Minister Alexey Tsoi also held talks, during which they discussed cooperation in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus, and a protocol on further cooperation between the agencies was signed.
