Chairman of the Majilis (lower house) of Kazakhstan's parliament Yerlan Koshanov received Russian Ambassador to the republic Alexei Borodavkin, and the sides discussed prospects for inter-parliamentary cooperation. This was reported on Wednesday by the press service of the Russian embassy in Astana.
"The ambassador warmly congratulated the speaker of the Majilis on his recent re-election to his high post, and also handed over a congratulatory message from Chairman of the State Duma [parliament] of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin. During the meeting, Borodavkin and Koshanov discussed prospects for further enhancing Russian-Kazakh inter-parliamentary cooperation, including through representatives of the young generation of the deputy corps," the statement said.
The parties also expressed satisfaction with the level and content of Russian-Kazakh allied relations and integration ties. "Borodavkin and Koshanov agreed to continue maintaining regular working contacts," the embassy noted.
