Russian Ambassador Russia: would continue military-technical cooperation with Kyrgyzstan

Russia will continue to work closely with Kyrgyzstan in the military and technical area, Russian Ambassador to the Republic Nikolai Udovichenko told on Tuesday in Bishkek during a meeting with the Chief of the General Staff of the Kyrgyz Armed Forces Taalaibek Omuraliev, the press service of the General Staff reports.


"Udovichenko assured that the Russian Federation will continue to implement the planned activities in the military and military-technical areas, as well as in the near future will take measures for the phased implementation of previously reached interstate agreements in the financial and economic sphere," the report says.


According to the press service, Omuraliev expressed his gratitude to the Russian side for the provided this summer "property of radiation-chemical and biological protection to combat the COVID-19 pandemic" and "sending a brigade of military doctors" during the complication of the epidemic situation in the republic". In addition, the head of the General Staff "confirmed his readiness to further strengthen strategic partnership relations".


"The parties noted that issues related to the functioning of the United Russian military base in the Kyrgyz Republic should be considered in terms of improving its qualitative component. The parties also expressed confidence that the Kyrgyz-Russian military relations will continue to develop and strengthen in the interests of regional stability and security," the press service noted.
