The governments of Russia and Kazakhstan are focusing on enhancing their allied relations and integrative ties, according to Russian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Alexey Borodavkin during a reception in honor of Russia Day.
"Our countries face substantial tasks in improving and expanding allied relations and integrative ties. These sawtasks were outlined in November 2023 in the Joint Statement by the President of the Russian Federation and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, marking the tenth anniversary of the Treaty on Good-Neighborliness and Alliance in the 21st Century between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as in the Joint Action Plan of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2024-2026," Borodavkin stated.
He noted that the cooperation between the two countries is progressing successfully. "Its agenda is truly comprehensive: security and defense, foreign policy, economy, environmental protection, and the humanitarian sphere. There is no area of intergovernmental relations where Russia and Kazakhstan do not find mutual interest in building an equal partnership," the diplomat explained.
First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar highlighted that a robust political dialogue has been established at various levels between the two countries, with steady economic and cultural-humanitarian ties actively developing. "I am particularly pleased to note that our countries have established a genuinely strategic cooperation and partnership based on close bilateral and multilateral interaction. In Kazakhstan's system of foreign policy priorities, Russia rightfully holds a special place. Our legal framework consists of more than 300 documents," he emphasized.
According to Sklyar, Kazakhstan and Russia are successfully developing partnerships in energy and space industries, and are collaborating in transport-logistics and agricultural sectors.
