Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Secretary-General Zhang Ming discussed the prospects for building mutually beneficial international ties. This was reported by the Russian diplomatic mission on Thursday.
"A detailed exchange of views on topical issues of the SCO's work, including in the context of improving the organization's activities took place," reads the statement published in the embassy's Telegram channel. - "Particular attention was paid to the prospects of building mutually beneficial international ties of the SCO".
It specifies that both parties "expressed their intention to continue close contacts on all aspects of cooperation within the organization."
The SCO, created in 2001, includes India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran and Mongolia have observer status, and Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Nepal, Turkey and Sri Lanka are dialogue partners.
