Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed on Wednesday by phone with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov the implementation of the agreements reached by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, including those concerning the resolution of humanitarian tasks in Nagorno-Karabakh.
"A number of topics in the context of the implementation of the agreements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia of November 9, 2020, and January 11, 2021, in particular concerning the solution of humanitarian tasks in Nagorno-Karabakh were touched upon. The important contribution of the Trilateral working group co-chaired by the deputy prime ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia to the post-conflict development of the region will be emphasized," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
As indicated in Smolensk Square, Lavrov and Bayramov noted with satisfaction that despite the negative impact of the pandemic, multifaceted Russian-Azerbaijani ties are successfully developing, trade and economic cooperation is growing. "This is largely facilitated by the implementation of the decisions of the 19th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the agreements reached during the recent official visit of Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov to the Russian Federation," the Russian Foreign Ministry added.
The sides also agreed on further contacts between the foreign ministries.
