Russian and Egyptian paratroopers practiced a joint landing from helicopters

Russian and Egyptian paratroopers held a joint landing from helicopters within the framework of the exercise "Defenders of Friendship - 2021". This was reported by the Russian defense ministry on Wednesday.


"Russian and Egyptian paratroopers in the first stage of the joint tactical exercise "Defenders of Friendship - 2021" practiced parachute-less landing in difficult conditions on unprepared landing sites in a forest area and the roof of an object captured by illegal armed formations (IAF)," the message reads.


In addition, at the military base of paratroopers in the settlement of Inshas, the personnel of the composite unit worked out an assault on a building seized by the militants.


All in all a combined detachment of fighters from two countries with a total number of more than 500 servicemen, as well as military transport aircraft Il-76MD of Russian Air Force and C-130 Hercules and heavy military transport helicopters Chinook of Egyptian Air Force were involved in the exercises, which take place from October 17 to 29 in Egypt.
