Russian and Iraqi foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Muhammad Ali al-Hakim exchanged congratulatory telegrams on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states.
"Both sides noted the traditionally friendly of Russian-Iraqi relations based on mutual respect and long-term ties between the two peoples. The mood to further strengthen the trust-based political dialogue on topical regional and international issues and the expansion of multifaceted cooperation between Moscow and Baghdad was stressed. All these meet the long-term interests of the two countries and serve to ensure peace and stability in the Middle East", - the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
