Today Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Luigi Di Maio at the latter’s initiative.
During the exchange of views on topical issues on the international agenda, special attention was paid to the stabilization of the situation in Libya.
Both sides stressed that maximum cooperation of efforts is required on international support of the peaceful Libyan settlement process with the central role of the United Nations.
The ministers agreed it was necessary to concentrate efforts to promote a dialogue between the Libyan parties considering the interests of Libya’s neighbors and other countries in the region.
They also discussed several issues concerning bilateral agenda.
