Russian and Kazakh premiers discuss fight against coronavirus and cooperation within EEU framework

Prime Ministers of Russia and Kazakhstan Mikhail Mishustin and Askar Mamin during a telephone conversation discussed bilateral cooperation, interaction within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the fight against the spread of coronavirus. The press service of the Kazakh government reported this on Tuesday.


"Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin held a telephone conversation with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation in trade and economic, agricultural, transit and transport and space spheres, the development of industrial cooperation and interaction within the EEU," reads the report.


According to the press service, special attention was paid to joint measures to prevent the spread of the disease caused by coronavirus COVID-19, as well as the implementation of joint action programs on the functioning of checkpoints on the Kazakh-Russian border.


A face-to-face meeting between the Prime Ministers of Russia and Kazakhstan was held in early February as part of a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Alma-Ata. There, the head of the Russian government spoke at the Digital Almaty 2021 forum.
