18 February 2020

Another round of talks between the Russian and Turkish delegations on the situation in Idlib in Syria has ended in Moscow. The parties stressed the need to quickly reduce tensions on the ground, as well as prevent further deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Idlib,  TASS reports with reference to the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

"The sides discussed measures that can be taken to fully implement the agreements reached in the framework of the Sochi Memorandum. The talks will resume tomorrow morning", the Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesperson was quoted as saying.

The first two rounds of Russian-Turkish talks were held on February 8 and 10 in Ankara.

The situation in Idlib deteriorated after the Russian and Turkish military made another attempt to impose a ceasefire  but the terrorists intensified their attacks. As a result, military specialists from Russia and Turkey were killed.
