Russian and Turkmen Presidents Discuss Strengthening Partnership

During a telephone conversation, Presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan expressed their intention to further develop the strategic partnership between their countries. This was reported by the Kremlin press service.

 

"The conversation covered various topics on the bilateral agenda. Both leaders reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and Turkmenistan, based on mutual trust and respect," the Kremlin noted.

 

Putin also expressed gratitude to Berdimuhamedov for extending congratulations on his victory in the presidential election and requested him to convey his regards to the former leader of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

 

The statement highlighted that President Berdimuhamedov "warmly congratulated Vladimir Putin on his resounding victory in the presidential election, which underscored the widespread support for the Russian leadership's political course within society, and wished him continued success in his highest state position."

 

"Vladimir Putin thanked President Berdimuhamedov for his congratulations and good wishes and asked him to extend his regards to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty (People's Council), Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov," the statement added.
