Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian president's special representative for the Middle East and African countries and deputy foreign minister, held a telephone conversation with US special envoy for the Horn of Africa Jeffrey Feltman on Wednesday, during which he pointed out the inadmissibility of external interference in Sudanese affairs.
"During the conversation, the latest developments in the Republic of Sudan were discussed. The Russian side stressed the need to stabilize the situation as soon as possible, to settle the existing inter-Sudanese contradictions through inclusive dialogue with the participation of all political forces in order to achieve national accord and solve Sudan's urgent socio-economic problems," the Russian foreign ministry said in a statement.
"At the same time, the inadmissibility of external interference in the internal affairs of this country was emphasized," the ministry stressed.
Moscow also confirmed its readiness to continue providing comprehensive assistance to the friendly Sudanese people, the Russian diplomatic office said.
The conversation was held at the initiative of the American side.
