Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that Russian companies are capable of gradually exploring global markets, starting with CIS, SCO and BRICS countries.
"We are all grown-ups here, and you are entrepreneurs. You know that everything is done gradually, step by step. Let's start with the closest neighbors, CIS countries, then SCO and BRICS countries. The market is incredibly large, huge," Putin said, speaking at the forum of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) "Strong Ideas for a New Time."
"This is exactly why I asked the Agency for Strategic Initiatives on the margins of the forum to hold an annual competition of the best new domestic brands, to invite exactly small and medium-sized companies to participate," he said, also noting that the majority of people live exactly in BRICS countries.
The president recalled the words of ASI CEO Svetlana Chupsheva that initially it was expected up to 500 brands to participate in the contest and as a result during two months there were more than 5 thousand applications from Russian producers of clothing, food products and high-tech solutions developers. Putin stressed that the competition was very high, and the winners were worthy.
