Russian Defense Ministry aircraft delivered residents evacuated from Afghanistan to Tajikistan

An airplane of the Russian Defense Ministry has delivered the residents of the country evacuated from Afghanistan to Gissar airfield in Tajikistan, the Russian Defense Ministry told reporters on Wednesday.

 

"A military transport aircraft of the Russian Defense Ministry landed at the airfield of the city of Gissar in the Republic of Tajikistan, where it delivered citizens of the republic evacuated from the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan," the ministry said.

 

 

Earlier, four military transport aircraft of the Russian Defense Ministry with citizens of Russia, CSTO countries (Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan), Uzbekistan and Ukraine on board took off from the airfield of Kabul (Afghanistan).


The evacuation of people is carried out by the Defense Ministry by order of President Vladimir Putin. More than 500 citizens of the Russian Federation, CSTO member states (Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan), Uzbekistan and Ukraine are planned to be evacuated from Afghanistan.
