Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed the situation in the republic and expressed the Russian side's readiness to provide further assistance in overcoming acute socio-economic problems at a meeting with Lebanese Ambassador to Moscow Chawki Bou Nassar on Thursday.
"During the conversation, there was an in-depth exchange of views on the development of the situation in the Middle East region in general and in the Republic of Lebanon in particular. The Russian side confirmed its unwavering support for Lebanon's sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, and stressed its readiness to continue providing assistance to the friendly Lebanese people in overcoming acute socio-economic problems," the Russian MFA said in a statement.
The meeting was held on the initiative of the Lebanese side.
