Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Representative for the Middle East and African countries Mikhail Bogdanov held a discussion with Egyptian Ambassador to Moscow Nazih El-Nagari on Thursday. The meeting focused on the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as preparations for the upcoming second Russia-Africa summit.
According to the statement from the Russian diplomatic office, the conversation involved a detailed exchange of views on key aspects of the Middle East and North Africa, with specific attention given to developments in Sudan and the Palestinian issue. Additionally, the officials discussed matters related to the preparations for the upcoming second Russia-Africa summit, scheduled to take place in St. Petersburg in July.
The meeting was initiated at the request of the Egyptian diplomat.
The second Russia-Africa summit and economic forum are set to be held on July 27-28 in St. Petersburg. The inaugural event took place from October 22-24, 2019, in Sochi, with the theme "For Peace, Security and Development."
