Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and African countries and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Egyptian Ambassador to Moscow Nazih El Naggary discussed Wednesday the settlement of crises in the Middle East and North Africa, including the situation in Sudan and Syria.
"The conversation included an in-depth exchange of views on strengthening foreign policy coordination between Moscow and Cairo to help resolve crises in the Middle East and North Africa region. Special attention was paid to the situation in Sudan in connection with the ongoing armed clashes in that country, as well as the situation in and around Syria in light of the intensification of political contacts between Damascus and the capitals of several Arab states," the Russian foreign ministry said in a statement published on its website.
