Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and African Countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Omani Ambassador to Moscow Hamood bin Salim Al Towaiya discussed the development of relations between the two countries as well as the schedule of upcoming contacts and events at a meeting on Friday.
"The conversation focused on specific issues of further strengthening traditionally friendly Russian-Omani relations, including the schedule of upcoming contacts and events," the Russian foreign ministry said in a statement.
The ministry also noted that the sides discussed Middle Eastern issues "focusing on developments in and around Syria" during the conversation.
The meeting was held at the request of the Omani ambassador.
