Russian Presidential Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov held a phone conversation with Walid Jumblat, the Chairman of the Progressive Socialist Party of Lebanon. The discussion, held on December 28, covered the current situation in the Middle East, with a specific focus on developments in and around the Gaza Strip, as stated in the Russian Foreign Ministry's message.
"During the conversation, the current situation in the Middle East was discussed with a focus on the development of events in and around the Gaza Strip," the ministry reported in the statement.
Additionally, both sides exchanged views on the political and socio-economic situation in Lebanon. The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized its commitment to supporting the unity, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of the Lebanese Republic. Furthermore, the Russian side expressed its intention to maintain active contacts with representatives from all political forces and ethno-confessional communities in Lebanon.
