Russian Presidential Special Representative for the Middle East and African countries, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed with Syrian Ambassador Bashar Jaafari issues related to the settlement of the situation in the republic, the Russian MFA said so in a statement issued on Wednesday.
"On January 4, Russian Presidential Special Representative for the Middle East and African countries and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov received Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic in Moscow Bashar Jaafari. During the conversation, they discussed in detail a set of issues related to the settlement of the situation in and around Syria in accordance with the principles of respect for the unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the SAR," the ministry reported.
