Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali discussed the situation in the Middle East region, including Syria, Libya, Yemen and the Persian Gulf zone, at a meeting on Tuesday.
"An interested exchange of views on the emerging situation in the Middle East and North Africa region was continued with a focus on the situation in Syria, Yemen, Libya and the Persian Gulf zone taking into account the results of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's recent visits to several states in the Arabian Peninsula," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Lavrov was on a visit to the Middle East from March 9 to 11.
