Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed the Palestinian-Israeli settlement and the situation in Syria with Jordanian Ambassador to Moscow Khaled Shawabkeh on Monday.
"During the conversation, there was an interested exchange of views on key aspects of the international and regional agenda, with a focus on the state of affairs in the Palestinian-Israeli settlement and the development of the situation in and around Syria," the Russian MFA said in a statement.
The ministry stressed that special attention was paid to topical issues of further strengthening the traditionally friendly Russian-Jordanian relations, including in the context of the implementation of agreements reached during the November 2-3 visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Amman.
The meeting was held at the request of the Jordanian diplomat.
