Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and UAE Ambassador to Moscow Mohammed Ahmed al-Jaber discussed the schedule of bilateral contacts, the situation in Syria, Libya and the Persian Gulf zone at a meeting on Friday.
"The parties discussed topical regional issues with a focus on the situation in Syria, Yemen, Libya, the Persian Gulf zone, as well as prospects for a Palestinian-Israeli settlement," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Smolenskaya Square reported that the sides also discussed "priority issues of further development of Russian-Emirati traditionally friendly relations, including the schedule of relevant bilateral contacts and events."
The meeting took place at the request of the UAE ambassador.
