Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin held discussions with Egyptian Ambassador to Moscow Nazih el Nagari regarding the arrangements for evacuating civilians, including foreign nationals, from the Gaza Strip through the Rafah checkpoint. This information was provided in the report released by the Russian Foreign Ministry, following a telephone conversation initiated by the Egyptian side on October 17.
"The discussion covered the evolving situation within the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, considering the ongoing deliberations in the UN Security Council on the Russian and Brazilian draft resolutions concerning the situation in the Gaza Strip. The conversation placed particular emphasis on the objectives related to facilitating the evacuation of civilians, including foreign nationals, from the enclave via the Rafah checkpoint, as well as the delivery of humanitarian assistance to Gaza's residents," the foreign ministry said in a statement.
