Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and African countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed over the phone with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Information of the Palestinian National Authority, member of the Fatah Central Committee Nabil Abu Rudeineh about the problems of the Palestinian-Israeli settlement.
"During the conversation the parties discussed the problems of the Palestinian-Israeli settlement and the task of consolidating the international community's efforts to promote it in accordance with the resolutions of the UN and its Security Council. They also touched upon a set of issues of restoration of Palestinian national unity on the political platform of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), including in light of the February 6 meeting of the PLO Central Council," the Russian MFA said in a statement released on Wednesday.
The discussion was held on February 1 at the initiative of the Palestinian side.
