Russian Presidential Special Representative for the Middle East and African countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, met with Yemeni Ambassador to Moscow Ahmed Salem al-Waheishi on Wednesday to discuss the ongoing military-political and humanitarian situation in Yemen. During the meeting, the Russian side reiterated its firm commitment to a political and diplomatic resolution of the Yemeni conflicts.
"The discussions involved a comprehensive exchange of views on the current situation in Yemen, with both parties emphasizing the importance of concerted efforts to achieve a sustainable ceasefire and facilitate a national dialogue under the auspices of the United Nations. Russia reaffirmed its principled stance in favor of a non-alternative political and diplomatic approach to address the inter-Yemeni differences," the statement reads.
The meeting was arranged at the request of the Yemeni side.
