Russian Deputy Foreign Minister meets Iranian Foreign Minister in Tehran

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko met Monday with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in Tehran, a statement published on the official Telegram channel of the Iranian FM reads.


"Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko, who arrived in Tehran to discuss and exchange views with his Iranian counterpart [Ali Bagheri Kani], today met and spoke with our country's Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian," the statement said.


At the meeting, Grushko noted the importance of developing cooperation "at the bilateral, regional and international levels." In turn, Amir Abdollahian stressed the need for regional cooperation and stated Iran's readiness to hold a meeting of foreign ministers of Russia, Iran, Turkey and Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia (in the "three plus three" format) in Tehran.


On February 20, Fars News Agency reported on the official meeting between Alexander Grushko and Ali Bagheri Kani, at which they discussed a wide range of regional and international issues, including developments in Ukraine, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Afghanistan and Syria.
