Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Receives Credentials from Burkina Faso's Ambassador

Special Representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov met with the newly appointed Ambassador of Burkina Faso to Russia Aristide Tapsoba. This meeting took place in the Russian diplomatic department.

 

Tapsoba arrived in the Russian Federation on January 23, 2024.

 

According to a report published on the website of the diplomatic department, "On January 31, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and African countries, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov received the appointed Ambassador of Burkina Faso to the Russian Federation, Aristide R. Ludovic Tapsoba, who presented copies of his credentials."

 

During their meeting, the parties discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations and cooperation in various areas. They also touched upon the issue of countering terrorism and extremism in the Sahara-Sahel zone.

 

Earlier reports indicated that the Russian embassy in Ouagadougou had resumed operations after a 31-year hiatus.
