The settlement process in Syria is far from over, but the parties express their readiness for constructive interaction. Russian Presidential Special Representative for the Middle East and African countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told reporters on Wednesday.
"The process, in my opinion, is far from over yet. There is still a lot of work to be done, which is not easy. We, all the participants in the meetings, are determined to continue, to interact constructively and to reach mutually acceptable solutions to extremely important issues, on which the stability not only in Syria, but also in the entire Middle East depends," said the deputy minister.
Bogdanov also called the June 20–21 meetings in Astana useful and timely. "With each meeting, we are moving forward. We still have a lot to do together with our partners, the guarantor countries," he added.
