A special Il-76 aircraft of the Russian Emergencies Ministry has flown to El-Arish, where it will deliver more than 20 tons of humanitarian aid for the population of Gaza, the press service of the ministry told TASS.
"The aircraft of the Russian Emergencies Ministry will transport a humanitarian cargo weighing more than 20 tons, comprising food and essential items," stated the press service. The Emergencies Ministry noted that the aid collection was initiated by the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.
The humanitarian aid will be transferred to representatives of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society. They will be responsible for forwarding the aid to the Gaza Strip.
This marks the 14th special flight carrying humanitarian assistance for the population of the Gaza Strip.
