Russia calls for bringing the Internet under international control in order to more effectively combat global challenges such as the coronavirus pandemic, the Special Presidential Representative, Director of the Department of International Information security of the Russian Foreign Ministry Andrey Krutskikh told during a teleconference organized by the Valdai discussion club.

"The Internet should really belong to the international community, should really be internationalized and, accordingly, be under objective international control, so as not to repeat the mistakes of the past and to organize as effectively as possible in the future work to combat global threats," the agency quotes, in particular, the diplomat.

Because of the coronavirus, according to Krutskikh, humanity as a whole will become even more dependent on cyber technologies, respectively, and on the Internet, and therefore it must be made more effective and less vulnerable.
