Russian Foreign Ministry Calls for Maximum Restraint from Israel and Iran

During a meeting with Israeli Ambassador Simona Halperin, Russian Presidential Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov emphasized the importance of all sides exercising maximum restraint amid the escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.

 

"The discussion focused on the current situation in the Middle East conflict zone, with particular attention given to the significant escalation of tension following the retaliatory attack by the Iranian Armed Forces on Israeli territory on April 14. The Russian side reiterated the necessity for all parties involved to demonstrate maximum restraint," stated the Russian Foreign Ministry in a released statement.

 

Additionally, the parties addressed the situation in the Gaza Strip, highlighting the imperative of resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, including the release of hostages. "Furthermore, various pertinent issues regarding the further advancement of Russian-Israeli relations, including the maintenance of political dialogue, were also discussed," added the Russian Foreign Ministry.
