Russian Foreign Ministry Condemns Israeli Strikes on Syria on September 8

10 September

Russia has strongly condemned the Israeli airstrikes on Syrian territory on September 8, urging Israel to halt its military provocations, Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said in a comment.

Zakharova noted that on September 8, the Israeli Air Force carried out a series of strikes on targets in Syria’s Hama province. According to official reports, the attack killed 18 fatalities and injured 37 individuals. The strikes also caused significant material damage, including to civilian infrastructure.

“We strongly condemn Israel’s use of force, which is a blatant violation of Syria's sovereignty and the fundamental norms of international law. Once again, we urge Israel to cease its military provocations against Syria and refrain from such reckless actions, which pose the risk of uncontrolled destabilization in the Middle East,” the statement declared.

Zakharova further emphasized that Russia believes such actions do not contribute to the security of Israel or any other country in the region. “Security must be preserved, not provoked,” she stressed.
