Russia expresses its condolences to the Egyptian people in connection with the March 11 fire in a factory on the outskirts of Cairo, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday.
"We express our sincere condolences to the friendly Egyptian people and to the families and friends of the victims. We wish a speedy recovery to the injured," the diplomatic mission said.
The Al-Ahram newspaper earlier reported that at least 20 people were killed and 24 injured on Thursday in a fire at a textile factory in the city of El-Ubour in Qalyubia province on the outskirts of the Egyptian capital.
