Russian Deputy Minister Sergey Vershinin received Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Russian Federation Riad Haddad, at the latter’s request.
During the conversation, the diplomats discussed issues of the Syrian settlement, including the situation "on the ground" in and around Syria, measures to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to all those in need and to implement stabilization projects in the country, as well as issues of the political process.
In addition, the parties touched upon "a number of topics on the bilateral agenda, the tasks of expanding and developing Russian-Syrian relations and cooperation, including within the framework of the work of the Intergovernmental Commission".
