Russia in contact with the Turkish side raises the issue of mercenaries from Syria and Libya in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, Russian Presidential Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told journalists on Monday.
"We discuss all the issues," he said answering the corresponding question.
Answering the clarifying question of whether the Russian side notes the unacceptability of mercenary participation in the conflict zone during the contacts, the Deputy Minister answered positively. "Of course", he said.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed deep concern over information about the transfer of illegal armed groups, particularly from Syria and Libya, to participate in hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh. In Moscow, they expressed confidence that such processes not only lead to further escalation of tensions in the conflict zone but also create long-term threats to the security of all countries in the region.
