The resumption of international air flights between Russia and Qatar in the near future will also affect tourist flights, Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and African countries and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, told reporters about it on Monday.
"I think yes, of course. This is a very important direction with Doha," he said, answering a question to TASS.
Bogdanov explained that the resumption of air flights is very important for bilateral relations between Russia and Qatar and the implementation of joint projects. "Not to mention the preparations for the FIFA World Cup, which should take place as early as next year. So there is a lot to do in our bilateral contacts and ties with this country. And it is a very important and convenient transit route for flights to the Far East, Asia and Africa," the Deputy Foreign Minister added.
Earlier, the operational headquarters for combating the new coronavirus infection has decided to resume flight connections with Vietnam (Moscow - Hanoi, twice a week), India (Moscow - Delhi, twice a week), Finland (Moscow - Helsinki, twice a week) and Qatar (Moscow - Doha, three times a week) from January 27.
