One Russian citizen died in an earthquake in Turkey. This was reported to TASS on Tuesday by Russian operational services.
"Information has been received through diplomatic channels that one citizen of the Russian Federation died as a result of the earthquake," the agency's interlocutor said.
The 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit Kahramanmaras province in southeastern Turkey on Monday. The earth tremors, followed by about 300 aftershocks, were felt in 10 provinces of the country, as well as in neighboring states, including Syria. After a while a new powerful strike was recorded. According to the latest data, more than 3.3 thousand people were killed in Turkey and more than 20 thousand people were wounded. According to the information of Syrian ministry of health, 812 people became victims of the disaster and more than 1.4 thousand people were injured.
