The long-standing conflict in Yemen can be resolved only through negotiations. In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia expects the talks between the government of Yemen and the Southern Transitional Council (STC), which started in Jeddah with the mediation of Saudi Arabia, to achieve peace in the country, the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry reads.
"We firmly believe that progress towards resolving the numerous problems facing Yemen, including the question of its territorial and state structure, is possible only through dialogue and consideration of the interests of all the leading political forces of the country", - the Russian Foreign Ministry says.
