Moscow calls on all external and internal players to exercise maximum restraint on the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko told reporters on Monday.
"We call on all external and internal players to exercise maximum restraint, including in terms of rhetoric. Now it is important to be as careful as possible in order to immediately achieve a ceasefire and return the parties to the negotiating table," he said.
"Russia, as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk group, has been actively participating in this process since 1991. We intend to continue contacts with all partners," the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister said.
Rudenko pointed out that Moscow was in constant contact with representatives of the OSCE Minsk group. "Cooperation within this format is developing quite successfully. We hope that it will bear fruit in terms of the current aggravation of the situation," he concluded.
The diplomat stressed that the situation remains very dangerous, because for the first time since 2016, heavy weapons are used, and there are real victims.
