Together with the friendly Mozambican people, we hope that with the overcoming of the existing contradictions, the attempts of power confrontation in Mozambique will finally go into the past and the country will establish lasting civil peace, so necessary to ensure its sustainable all-round development," the message of Russian MFA reads in particular.

The agreement on national reconciliation is a continuation of the agreement concluded by the parties on the final cessation of the armed confrontation between the two parties, which involves the implementation of measures for disarmament, demobilization and partial reintegration into the national armed forces and law enforcement agencies of the participants of the Renamo military formations.
