Moscow does not know how much the ideas announced by US President Donald Trump in the so-called "deal of the century" are the result of a compromise, and calls for direct negotiations between Palestine and Israel, Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told RIA Novosti.
"We believe that they should have direct negotiations and reach mutually acceptable compromises. We don't know whether the US proposal is mutually acceptable or not. We must wait for the reaction of the parties," the diplomat said, in particular.
The details of the" deal of the century" was released the day before. The plan, in particular, includes the creation of an independent Palestinian state. At the same time, Israeli settlements in the West Bank of the Jordan river are being annexed by Israel. Palestine has already rejected Trump's plan.
