The Russian Foreign Ministry commented on 2510 resolution in support of the results of the Berlin conference on Libya, adopted on February 12 by the UN Security Council.
The Russian delegation, as noted, abstained from the vote because the British authors of the document refused to take into account the "fundamental points".
"As a result, the adopted resolution contains many unbalanced provisions, and also provides for the possibility of imposing sanctions for non-compliance with what is not yet available, and requires the Secretary-General to submit his recommendations in this regard. This, in particular, applies to the still-pending truce, " the statement reads.
Such ultimatums and unilateral approaches, as stated in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, will not promote the Libyan settlement.
"Russia will continue to work with all key Libyan players, setting them up for the early achievement of a permanent truce and discussing the entire range of issues related to the restoration of the unity of the Libyan state and the normalization of life in the country," the Foreign Ministry stressed.
