"The Russian side expressed its readiness to further facilitate an internal Malian settlement and the early normalization of the situation in Mali in accordance with the norms of international law and the provisions of the UN Charter," the statement said.
As the diplomatic office noted, the sides also touched upon the development of bilateral relations. "They discussed topical issues of the bilateral Russian-Malian agenda with a focus on the prospects for expanding trade, economic, scientific, technical, humanitarian and other ties," the Russian foreign ministry added. - "Moscow and Bamako confirmed their willingness to further deepen the political dialogue and build up the coordination of activities in the UN and other international organizations".
The meeting was held in connection with the completion of Konaté's mission in Moscow. He had served as the republic's ambassador to Russia since 2016.
