Russian MFA Highlights Russia's Growing Attraction in Africa

28 September 2023

Oleg Ozerov, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry and Head of the Secretariat of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, stated that there is significant appreciation for Russia in Africa, with Russian President Vladimir Putin being viewed as a symbol of the global fight for justice by many people on the continent.

"We observe a remarkable level of attraction to Russia in Africa," Ozerov stated during an international seminar organized by the Imperial Orthodox Palestinian Society (IPPO), where he serves as a council member.

Ozerov mentioned that during the recent second Russia-Africa summit, representatives from African countries approached him and expressed their strong admiration for Putin, even surpassing the sentiments in Russia. He emphasized that Putin has become a symbol of the global struggle for justice, traditional values, family, and healthy human relationships. This is in contrast to what he described as the Western promotion of perversion and the influence of dark forces.

The diplomat also highlighted the active efforts to establish IPPO branches in Africa, particularly in Egypt and Tunisia, with plans to expand further. He noted the society's global resonance and the widespread interest in its activities, driven by the values it upholds.

Ozerov underscored the importance of the society's work in showcasing Russia's true spiritual and virtuous identity to the world. He assured that the Russian Foreign Ministry would strongly support and actively engage in this endeavor.
