On October 29, on the eve of the first meeting of the Syrian Constitutional Committee, a meeting of Foreign Ministers of the guarantor states of the "Astana" process – Russia, Iran, and Turkey – may take place in Geneva. The relevant issue is currently being pursued, TASS reports with reference to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The decision to establish the Constitutional Committee of Syria was adopted at the Congress of the Syrian National Dialogue in January 2018 in Sochi.
The Committee includes 150 people - 50 persons each from official Damascus, the opposition and civil societies.
The first meeting of the Committee is to be held in Geneva on 29 and 30 October.
