Russian MFA: Russia to cooperate with China in Syrian crisis settlement

Russia intends to cooperate with China in Syrian crisis settlement, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov writes in his article "Russian-Chinese relations at a new historical start of development"  for the International Life magazine.

 

 


"Beijing is raising its presence in Syrian issues, which, given the noticeable improvement in the situation in Syria, opens up prospects for China's participation along with Russia and other states in the post-conflict reconstruction of the country. We are committed to the closest cooperation with our Chinese partners in solving the pressing problems of Syria, helping to normalize the life of the Syrian people as soon as possible", - the Deputy Foreign Minister said.

 

 


The armed conflict in Syria is continuing since 2011. At the end of 2017, the victory over the  ISIS terrorist group (is outlawed in Russia) in Syria and Iraq was announced. In some areas of Syria, the fight with the terrorists continues.

 

 


The political settlement in Syria is being discussed at the sites of Nur-Sultan and Geneva.
